Employee Spotlight: Meet Nicole Craig
Hello readers! My name is Nicole and I am Chelsie’s pre-litigation paralegal. I started with Chelsie in November 2016 and was promoted to a paralegal in May of 2018.
I grew up in Ohio. Upon graduation from high school, I moved to Lakeland Florida where I attended Florida Southern College. I graduated in 2006 with a duel bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology. I, like most 20 somethings, took a few years to decide which career path I’d like to pursue. I spent some time as store manager in a women’s clothing store while I weighed my choices.
The legal field has always fascinated me and I soon decided I wanted to join the field. In 2010, I attended the post-baccalaureate certificate program for paralegal studies at St. Petersburg College where I obtained my certificationas a paralegal. That same year I started working at a personal injury law firm in Clearwater and saw first hand how the negligence of one person can permanently alter the life of another.
My husband and I live in Safety Harbor with our two boys. I enjoy the outdoors, especially running. I have trained for and ran in three half marathons and participated in the Savage Race but I can tell you I do not see any full marathons in my future!
I also enjoy art and other creative projects. You may see me around town running down Bayshore or through Phillippe Park, or catch my occasional canvas or wine glass painting classes.
My biggest joy though is spending time with my family. Everything from dinners to nerf battles to quiet reading time in the evenings – it is all dear to my heart. It is bittersweet watching my boys grow all too fast, but I am amazed how their personalities are developing and at their pure hearts. I can’t wait to see what the future holds both professionally and personally!
