Tampa Bay now has the highest rate of crashes caused by drug using drivers in the state of Florida with a reported 465 crashes since 2014. One alarming fact discovered during the investigation is that many of these crashes are happening during day light hours. Another alarming fact uncovered is that many of the drug using drivers who were arrested get their licenses back while others may not even face charges. The reasons these drug using drivers do not face charges is because it cannot be proven they were on drugs because they refused a drug test and because there is no law in Florida stating any sort of legal or illegal limit as there is with alcohol.
