Safe Driving Tips for Clearwater & Tampa Drivers

Safe Driving Tips for Clearwater & Tampa Drivers

1. Hang Up and Drive

Distracted driving can be just as dangerous as drunk driving. Turn off the phone while you are driving unless you are using it for GPS. If you’re using it for that, secure the phone at eye level and do not touch it unless you’re at a complete stop.

A lot of people use their cell phones for music as well. If you do, keep the volume low so you can hear what’s going on around you. Also, do not try to change the music while driving.

2. Buckle Up for Safety

Always wear your seat belt. Do not turn on the car without buckling up and have a strict seatbelt policy for all of your passengers as well.

3. Always Choose Safety

Always check your blind spot —twice— before making a lane change. Be sure to use your blinkers. Don’t speed. If you miss your turn don’t slam on your breaks and try to navigate four lanes in less than 20 feet. Simply drive to the next safe place to make a u-turn, or better yet, turn right and circle back around. Your trip may take an extra five minutes, but you will be doing the right thing to keep yourself and others on the road safe!
